Yogurt Parfait

This past week was everything but healthy for me. I had cravings and I sadly didn't deny from myself anything...So yes, I ate chocolate and chocolate and have I mentioned chocolate, already? And mostly at night.
Well, thanks god for not having those killing moments anymore when all I could think about is having a delicious bite of chocolate melting in my mouth...or chocolate chip cookies...Which I didn't make. Thank god!!
Today I am actually craving food that is good for me. Something that makes me full yet not immobilizing me because I am sooo full. Something that is not carbs, something that is not crazy sweet, something that makes me happy. So I got the idea of making a yogurt parfait!! Since finally summer is here which equals fresh fruits!! My all time favorite that I can never get sick of are strawberries!! Ahhhh.....strawberries....I could write an ode to strawberries, I love them so much :D We had 6 kgs of them the other day and they are almost gone!!

Doesn't this look like heaven??

But back to the parfait... It is so easy to make! You can use any kind of fruit.
I made mine with blueberries and strawberries but I used banana and cherries for the other ones.

Yogurt Parfait

1 plain Activia yogurt
a handful of blueberries
3 pieces of straberries
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 oatmeal cookie

In a glass or a cereal bowl layer oatmeal, a few teaspoons of yogurt, a few pieces of fruits and repeat the layers until you run out of the ingredients. I also crumbled a cookie on top so it would sweeten the parfait. :)

Sajtos Pogácsa - Hungarian Cheese Puffs

We have different traditions in Hungary in the holiday season. Santa, I mean St Nicholas, comes on 6th December here and on Christmas Eve we are waiting for the little Jesus to bring our presents! Of course, as an almost 22-year-old I don't expect any gifts on Nicholas day...That is why I was so surprised when I got absolutely the coolest thing ever! A plastic bread-board! I had a huge wooden one that was very heavy, very hard to clean and needed such a big space. Look at this beauty :)

It has everything I might need. Measurements, unit converter, it can be rolled up, I don't need to use flour for kneading...I know exactly how big I need to knead the dough, it is perfect!  So, of course I just had to try it out! :)
I've been waiting for these cheese puffs' recipe for years now. It is a traditional, old school Hungarian pastry. It is made with yeast and it tastes amazing! These mini puffs are crunchy on the outside and super duper soft inside! This recipe is the ultimate c…

Hungarian Kakaós Csiga (Chocolate Rolls)

Frankly, I missed baking so much! Even though I needed one baking-free month to lose all the weight I gained due to the excessive baking mania I got over this summer I just cannot stop it! So I decided that I don't have to give up this love of mine but I do have to figure out something that will not leave me end up gaining weight again. What to do, what to do...Bake only in the weekends! And probably I should get a grip and not stuff my face until I can't move...Which didn't really happen today. I ate like 6 of these lovely chocolate rolls...I guess, no dinner for Csilla tonight :P These rolls are from a traditional Hungarian pastry recipe. I called my Grandma to ask for the recipe and as it always happens with Grandma recipes she did not know the measurements...I don't know if it's only with my grandmas but they always work with their eyes so they usually have no idea how much grams I need from this or that... So I turned to an ancient Hungarian cookbook and that i…

Pad Thai

I feel so bad about not posting anything for weeks. I have my excuses. But who likes hearing about excuses? Not me! So probably no one else, either.  Although I'd like to share that I have finished writing my thesis! I wrote about the crises' of South Asia. It was such a drag...I had a serious writer's block going on and I procrastinated so much that in the end I had 2 weeks left to write the whole thing. I basically did nothing besides writing, eating and sleeping. Exciting life, huh? Now that it's over, I've got even more scholar stuffs to do than before! But I'll be graduating in 2 months, if all goes well...So that's worth all the hard work, right? :)
But enough about me and let's talk about these noodles! I do not think there's one person who wouldn't like pad thai! Even those who swear not to eat any weird looking asian food, like my Grandma, will like this meal after having one bite! It is an authentic thai recipe, due to my Mom went to a Th…
