Things to do before Christmas

So as everyone is completely, totally aware of today's date..or at least, know that it's still November but December is pretty close too, we get to realize that Christmas is almost here! I mean, Thanksgiving is in 2 days!!! And for that matter, I am gonna celebrate it for the 2nd time in my whole life...since im not an american, it shouldnt be a big deal but this year we are celebrating it! I am making a whole bunch of food...punpkin pie, sweet potatoe casserole, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, buscuits and gravy and some fried chicken, also. Not the healthiest choices, I know! But oh well...Once in a year...But to declare one thing. I hate pumpkins. I just really dont like its taste! I dont even know why I made up my mind that THIS is the dessert I'm gonna make. And once I decide what I wanna do, I will do it, no matter what. I am actually really excited to make allll these foods :D But after thanksgiving...

It's time for a cleanse before the year's biggest holiday!! I'm sure, I'm not the only one who hasnt been an angel when it comes to eating...Ever since the weather is not so warm anymore, I really love to enjoy a mug of hot chocolate in the evenings...or eat some sweets in the weekends, and what if it's on a wednesday?? So yes, I definitely think a cleanse will be just perfect =)
I just bought today a book about a 28-day eating and exercising plan. If I start doing it right after thanksgiving, maybe I have a chance to finish properly, but if not, then I dont think that 1 or 2 days minus or plus will make that huge of a deal. It starts with a 3-day liquid cleanse. Well, before starting it there are 2 days when I'll eat raw. And after the 3 days the raw diet comes back. In the 2nd and 3rd weeks I can eat a lot more but only clean and mostly raw foods. Exercise is very important, too. The author recommends pilates mostly. It's perfect for me, since I just started doing pilates a few weeks ago...I will also do bikram yoga. I personally find bikram the best yoga type. It's not only safer since I am in an approximately 100 degrees room while performing the asanas but it totally works every inch of my body. I feel awesome afterwards. Okay, I feel completely out of breath after a class but the next day I have so much more energy.

Where was I? So yes...doing the cleanse. Then christmas shopping can begin, too!! I'm acually thinking of not buying too many unnecessary stuffs. I'll be baking and making mocca, coconut and maybe hazelnut liquores! Putting them into pretty boxes or bottles will totally make them awesome presents! I mean, I hope =) I will make the christmas cards myself, too. But thats something I usually do on my own. Im not a big fan of buying cards...

Oh and I already renewed my christmas music collection..I know, itll be a hige relief for my family. My favorite x-mas cd has been the white christmas by bing crosby and friends. It was my ultimate favorite and every year I forced, yes, forced my family to listen to it on christmas eve. They got bored with it soooo much, Im sure they would puke if they had to listen to it again. So what to do? I broadened my repertoire and now have more than 200 songs!! YAAAY =) better than listening to the same 12 or 13 :D

Hmm...I think thats all I can think of now of doing before the Holidays...Ill share my menu and how Im doing with my cleanse later!

Homemade Nutella

I was an exchange student (ah how many times I've said this sentence...) 5 years ago in the US. I'm not gonna talk about how it was (AMAZING) but then and there I gained sisters! Now I have one living in the States and one living in Germany. And next week we are gonna be reunited! I can't wait, I am so excited! So this week I am going to Germany and was thinking what I should bring. Because basically Germany has everything that Hungary has, if not more. So what to give what to give? I was thinking really hard when a completely random thing came to my mind. I should make some nutella. She loves nutella. Frankly, who doesn't, right? I love it, too although it's been years since I ate any. I can't really explain why because I always think that if I eat just one spoon, I will gain a 100 pounds immediately. But with this thought, I shouldn't be eating any brownies, cookies...etc.  BUT today I tried my homemade Nutella. OH MY GOD. I wouldn't have though...

Hungarian Kakaós Csiga (Chocolate Rolls)

Frankly, I missed baking so much! Even though I needed one baking-free month to lose all the weight I gained due to the excessive baking mania I got over this summer I just cannot stop it! So I decided that I don't have to give up this love of mine but I do have to figure out something that will not leave me end up gaining weight again. What to do, what to do...Bake only in the weekends! And probably I should get a grip and not stuff my face until I can't move...Which didn't really happen today. I ate like 6 of these lovely chocolate rolls...I guess, no dinner for Csilla tonight :P These rolls are from a traditional Hungarian pastry recipe. I called my Grandma to ask for the recipe and as it always happens with Grandma recipes she did not know the measurements...I don't know if it's only with my grandmas but they always work with their eyes so they usually have no idea how much grams I need from this or that... So I turned to an ancient Hungarian cookbook and that...
